HAPPY BIRTHDAY GAGE! HAPPY BIRTHDAY TAYA!

A kiss from my boy on his birthday! In his chair ready for dinner! So is Taya!

He did not want to be sitting there!
Yes..she was about to pull his hair! Birthday hat..birthday shirt! He kept staring at Daddy!
She immediately pulled it off! Then put it back on!
I had made a cake for their party that others could eat..and since it was their birthday we gave them a piece!
HAPPY BIRTHDAY TO YOU!
HAPPY BIRTHDAY TO YOU!
HAPPY BIRTHDAY DEAR GAGE!
HAPPY BIRTHDAY TO YOU!

HAPPY BIRTHDAY TO YOU!
HAPPY BIRTHDAY TO YOU!
HAPPY BIRTHDAY DEAR TAYA!
HAPPY BIRTHDAY TO YOU!

For those of you who haven't seen my blog before..or just haven't figured it out..Gage and Taya are twins. Gage is 35 minutes older than Taya, and their first birthday was December 16th!

It is an understatement to say they were a surprise! The pregnancy itself was a surprise..but twins!! Wow! We had NOT been planning a pregnancy at all. We were, however, very happy and excited. That was a year and a half ago! I cannot believe they are a year old already! It truely does seem like just yesterday!

Gage is already such a wonderful big brother! He plays great with Taya and is SO soft and sweet to Haylee and Peyton. It really didn't take him long to understand he needed to "be soft" with the girls. He loves to hold them and give them kisses!

He is such a ham! He loves to walk up to me when I am holding a camera or camcorder and try and grab it and play with it.

Gage is so much fun to play with. He loves to "talk" to you and copies really well! His laugh is contagious! He has a huge smile and shows it off well!

Gage is very smart. He observes everything! He always has. He loves to experiment, but he definately checks it out first. I love to watch him discover new things and new ways to do things. He walks..cruises..SO GOOD! He will be just holding on with one finger and walking great! I often watch his face and he wants to let go so bad..he's just not too sure about it! He will take a few steps toward someone but not just anywhere yet.

We thought Gage was going to be shy and Taya NOT..but we were wrong!! Around us Taya is a fun, crazy girl, but around others..especially kids..she isn't at all! Gage loves to meet new people..adults or kids! We were over at Aunt Jane's house and her daughter Brooklyn (who was 18 months at the time and Gage and Taya were 10) was there. Gage loved playing with her and laughing. Taya just kept to herself..playing by herself. It was a shock to Cory and me! I'm sure..with her fun personality that that won't last long.

Taya is a wonderful sister! She loves playing with Gage and tries really hard to be sweet with Haylee and Peyton. Those two are often sleeping on the couch. Both Gage and Taya will go to it looking for them throughout the day. One day, we got home from a drive and left Haylee and Peyton to sleep in their carseats. Taya and Gage crawled up to the couch and looked at it, then us, then it, then us. They had a confused look on their face. It was so cute! Anytime one of them cries Taya will crawl up to them and look at them. She does enjoy grabbing their hands, but she's not completely soft yet. They do good dealing with it though! Sometimes she is a little weary about touching them, but she warms up to it more every day!

She is now such a cheeser! She used to HATE cameras. At a VERY EARLY age, she realized what they were and would always NOT smile when she saw one. Now she has learned to "cheeeese" and loves it!

Taya has such a cheerful, contagious laugh too. I love making them both laugh. If I am in a bad mood, one laugh from them literally makes me laugh out loud. They definately turn my frown upside down!

Taya is really smart too! She experiments with everything!! She will grab anything off of the floor and it immediately goes from hand to mouth! She will definately make a face when it's something nasty and will take it back out. She and Gage know so much!

They are such a wonderful blessing in our lives. Cory and I had completely different plans for our lives. I guess it's not our plans that count though! We are truely grateful! We love them so much!
